Settled first in Lebanon, Conn., but removed to Stonington about 1703, where she was received into the church February 24, 1706. After Mrs. Anne Mason's death Captain John Mason m. (second) Mrs. Anne SANFORD Noyes, widow of Dr. James Noyes of Stonington, Conn. She was the daughter of Governor Peleg Sanford of Rhode Island and grandaughter of Governor William Coddington of Newport, RI The marriage of Captain John Mason and Anne SANFORD Noyes was on July 15, 1719. Captain John Mason died December [23] 1736 in London, England, where he had gone with Mahomet, grandson of Owaneco, to obtain recognition by the Crown to the right of Mahomet to the sachemship of the Mohegans."

He may have died of smallpox.
