Her sister Margaret died in 1962 and Vera is listed with her married name in the undated obituary so she died between 1928 and 1962. If her age was 81 then she could have been older than Margaret but that’s not certain.
The 1900 census lists Ella Cannon living with her sister and brother-in-law at age 35. If that is Mary Ellen then she might have been born ca 1865 and died ca 1946.
Undated obituary: Miss Mary Ellen Cannon, well acquainted in many homes in Shaker and Cleveland Heights, where she had done practical nursing for 25 years, died yesterday at a nursing home. Miss Cannon, 81, who lived at 3447 E. 149th Street, had been in ill health since undergoing an operation in December. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, and had worked in hospitals and institutions for shutins. Surviving her are a sister, Mrs. Margaret Starr of Cleveland; a brother, Thomas Cannon of Paterson, N.J., and a neice, Mrs. Vera Batzer of Pepper Pike Village. Solemn requiem mass will be offered Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, 15001 Kinsman Road S.E. with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
