From Goodspeed's Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Western Arkansas p.367:
"Mr. Maberry is a native of Virginia, and his parents, Charles and Ellen B. (Thompson) Maberry, were natives of the same State, born in Floyd County. In 1848 they removed to Schuyler County, Mo., and from there to Arkansas in 1858."

Charles and Ellen appear in the 1860, 1870 and 1880 Census living in Arkansas. They are buried in Arkansas and probably died there.

Listed in the 1860 Census at age 30 as head of household in Jasper Township, Crawford County, AR with wife Ellen (age 37), and children Matthew (age 17), Letitia (age 15), Joshua (age 12), Mary J. (age 11), Isabella (age 9), Emaline (age 7), Augustus ). (age 5), Ada M. (age 3), Vianna V. (age 2 months). The value of their land was $1000 and they had $883 in personal property.

Listed in the 1870 Census at age 49 as head of household in Short Mountain Township, Franklin County, AR with wife Ellen (46), and children Joshua (22), Isabella (19), Emaline (17), Augustus (15), Edward (13), Annie (10) [this is Vianna], Virginia (6) [this is Lemma?]. How did daughter Ada M. age 3 become son Edward age 13 between 1860 and 1870?

Listed in the 1880 Census as head of household at age 59 in Short Mountain Township, Logan County, AR with wife Ellen (57) and daughters Isabelle (26), Vianna (20), Lemma (16), M.J. (widowed, 30) and M.J.'s children in Short Mountain, Logan, Arkansas.
