He immigrated in June or July 1625 to New Netherlands with his wife and family on a ship of the Dutch West India Company which saled in the expedition that was comprsed of the ships Mackerel, Horse, Cow and Sheep. He returned to the Netherlands in 1629. He returned from the Netherlands on board "De Endracht" (the Unity) on 24 May 1630.19
