After graduating in 1919 she taught for one year in Baldwinsville, NY. Later, she became a textile technologist in New York City. Her first position was at Brown and Durell, participating in the early development of nylon. She later worked as a freelance writer and held positions with Good Houskeeping magazine, American Cyanamid, and the American Textile Association.
