The Oklahoman, Saturday, Nov 15, 1941: Dillon L. Patterson, 62, retired Choctaw farmer, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Friday at the home of a son, Bryce Patterson, 3205 S. Douglas Ave. Patterson came to stay with his son about two weeks ago.
He had been a state resident since 1907. At Altus he operated a livery stable and from 1914 to 1930 he sold musical instruments at Frederick. In 1930 he moved to near Choctaw and farmed until ill health forced him to retire.
Patterson was born July 4, 1879 in Eden, Alabama.
Also surviving are his wife, Alma; another son, Bill, 2313 NW 37th St; a daughter, Mrs Sue White, Chandler; and four brothers, Dewey, Clifton, TX; R. Y., Iredell, TX; and Artis and William, both of Meridian, TX.
Services will be 2 pm Saturday, in the Methodist Church at Choctaw. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Watts & McAtee Funeral Home.
