Misc. Notes
Appears in 1900 census as a shop foreman in Cleveland on Russell Avenue living with brother Otto head of household. Age and birth in Pennsylvania are consistent. Otto is shown as born circa 1874 which ties back to the 1882 passenger list showing Otto age 8. Some of the other siblings are listed as daughters and sons but this seems like an error.

Appears in 1910 Census living in Cleveland on Savannah Avenue with the last name indexed as “Batzen”. Household included Russell age 4, wife Theresa, borther-in-law Condrad, sister-in-law “Mamie” (Mary Siringer?) and Theresa’s grandmother Elizabeth age 79.

Listed in 1930 Census at age 46 as head of household in Shaker Heights, Cuyahogha, Ohio living with Teresa, Russel, Majorie and Lois.

Born in Philadelphia, he came to Cleveland when a small child and made his home here ever since. He lived on Forest Drive in Pepper Pike Village. For many years he was a superintendent of the Foote-Burt Co. and later production manager for the old Stearns Motor Co. He was 60.
